Interrailing Advice and Info

as usual apologies for such a late blog post!
so if you follow my Instagram you would've seen that i went inter-railing with my friends around Europe as a first year of college summer trip... and wow wasn't it amazing!
So...... today i'm giving my advice on how to do it like we did in this video and the tips and tricks to getting it for the best price.
when do you start planning it all?
well we started to get organised around Christmas and had started saving before then. The main thing to do when you're planning is to pick the last destination and work your way backwards. For us we chose Croatia is our main destination to relax in and stayed there 5 days. We booked the flights to there and the villa the same day, that was our first purchase.
How to start booking?
Start for example book the flight to croatia from your next place that you're staying and so on. We booked the usual route; Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Croatia, London and back to Dublin.
Hostels, are they clean and well worth it?
I'd definitely recommend hostels just make sure you research about them and if theyre in a good location for your city!
We stayed in a collection of Wombat City Hostels which id definitely recommend to anyone interrailing or even on a city break
What else should i do in preparation for it all?

I aimed to have around 1250 euros in spending money and i only spent around 650 on the trip. instead of going out for food all the time, we bought fresh fruit for breakfast with muesli and bought food to make sandhwhiches and little snacks for lunch. That way we saved money.
we walked most places and used uber to get to other places as it was cheap enough!
Most places you want to go are usually 40/30 minute walks away from your hostel which seem long at first but aren't when you're new to the area and you're seeing new things and monuments
Would i advise an interrail pass?
100% yes. You firstly have to activate it in the first station you visit then from there you just write the destination you're going to and that's it! We bought a 5 day travel pass.
